Getting back on topic, I own a caravan park. I could write a book on some of the stuff I have seen.

Pfft..... Where I get my fuel isnt the easiest of places for caravanners to get into..... doesnt stop them, but it does reduce the numbers!

Was out at Texas last week and checked out the free camp spot down by the river, where there were at least 30 grey nomads parked under the trees. Most seemed to have TV aerials erected.
One guy said he'd had a heart turn, tests were sent away by the local doctor and he was told not to move for a week until the results came back. Shopkeepers seemed to be doing well out of the NMs, particularly the IGA and local cafes. Meanwhile, the small local caravan park was fairly empty. Guess the locals must figure the benefits to the local shops outweigh the loss to the caravan park, as they built a shower block in the main street to entice the NMs into town to clean up.
The demand for Camps and similar guides shows what the public wants.
For ourselves, we don't need power, so why would we cop being charged $40-50 a night?
