He's dreaming. He'll only get $62,500 for it.

I worked with a Kombi enthusiast a few years back. The old splitty Kombi is very sought after and people have been known to promise their first born for a microbus.

During my professional driving career I was often driven to a state of intense frustration, almost simmering near-rage at times, by caravanners. Particularly so on the Pacific and Bruce Highways with the long stretches of near impossible overtaking.

If you must wander the highways with a van combination then get one that will comfortably and safely maintain the speed limit at GCM on a 3% grade. Next acquire the necessary skills and temperament to drive at the speed limit and then do so. This way you won't have heavy vehicles queued up behind you flashing lights and blowing air horns. You might not be on a time table but sure as hell the line haul and delivery drivers and sales reps are. So either speed up or get out of the way. Show some courtesy to other road users.

Don't forget Brian it was the truck drivers that used to hold up everybody on single lane roads (Pacific Hwy for instance) crawling up hills at 25mph and then fanging it in angel gear down the other side with no chance of passing them unless you were in a Customline, Thunderbird, Jaguar or Pontiac GTO

Today it's the other way round with 600+ horsepower in the trucks. (Still three abreast pacing each other up the multi-lane carriageways).

There's plenty of road so why does everyone want to sit up "yer bum"? Go around them and they stick to your tail like glue, particularly at night. One night many years ago on the very straight Cobar-Bourke road took one goose up to his vehicle's terminal velocity and I then touched the brakes - he then realised how fast he was going and backed off and receded into the distance.

May I suggest that all the people that posted a comment about older , slower and more careful drivers do a print out of their post and file it away. Then on your 70th birthday take it out and read it. .W.

A gentle reminder that "bacicat" will have a bit of extra weight in his trailer on his trip home

This might cause a bit of a hold up to some

I'm waiting for the pics to show it being loaded into the trailer

I'm not sure what it is either, but it will probably get a mention after the weekend's camp
