Can see you don't live in the West.
They trialled it years ago, early 90's I think.
We were living in Karumba, horrible, still 40 at 9:45 at night & the sun still blazing. Had to go to work in the dark & the rule that our daughter had to be home when the street lights came on didn't work so well.
    Let the Mexicans keep it.

Wa had a couple of trails of daylight saveing after a constant whinge on the subject here , part of the justification was that families would be able to go to the park and play with kids , surfers could go the beach etc etc etc etc etc blah blah blah , problem was that this trail was a flop as all the wonderfull things that people were going to do with this daylight saveing did not happen .

IMHO daylight saving should be in winter when the days are short , that would make more sence .

You can have it. It's over rated.
It just means I have to wake up in the dark and have to try to get to sleep when it's bright and sunny. It also means I have to travel home at the hottest part of the day. A real pain in the peak of summer.

I was in my 20's thankyou, I voted no and still would. At the time I worked in real estate in Coolangatta and the office was 100m from Tweed Heads.

All this border stuff is just whinging from people who cant organise. It was easy, you just asked NSW or QLD time when making appointments etc. The best part was I was in my twenties, kisses in Tweed at 12am 1st January then an hour later you got to do it again in Coolangatta, in those days it might not have been the same partner an hour later

Victorians, ya gotta luv 'em, settle somewhere, & everything has to happen their way. Don't they remember why they moved in the first place? Bob
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Not-a-bloody-gain......this has been to the umpires so many times.....when are you going to accept the umpires decision? when he blows the whistle in your favour only. Stand up and be proud that this state still maintains the last of its bastions. We gave away free medical as more Mexicans came over the border....y'know if you don't like it , go somewhere where it happens.....don't keep trying to change us. Over the last 20 years governments at all levels have eroded the Qld lifestyle to make it the same as Synnerdy and Moulburn.....why? Leave us alone....we asked for it to be this way.

OK, to put the cat amongst the pigeons again, I now work in the drilling and blasting industry. Starting work at 6 or 5.30 in winter it is dark and even living on the Gold Coast means 0 or -1 in quarries.

It's cold dark and hard to start drilling in the dark, even with work lights. So under your idea, we start and have to wait an hour longer to see what we're doing and have the expense of putting more lights on.

Not to mention we already have time restraints at certain quarries due to morning noise. Imagine the oldies if we starting drilling rock an hour earlier in the morning before it's warm enough for them to get out of bed. I could see us being told to start a further hour later than we are already forced too.

It just doesn't work for everyone. Next winter come and do the morning checks with me on the rig and grease it at 5.30 in the morning. Then we'll try 4.30

Hate the idea of it up there when I lived there and still do now, one thing I liked about living in QLD is no DLS. For 16 years it never really bothered me to be quite honest, got used to it and can't see what people are carrying on about.
