Found that the brake pads where in need of replacement. Range rover pads have to be one of the easiest to change. So started on the back pads first for no particular reason. Right rear first, got the pads changed ok. Had thought that the trailing arm bush at the axle was cactus. But no not that simple.Had pencilled in a bush replacement for some time on the weekend. The bolt hole had flogged prior to me owning the vehicle. A washer had been welded in place as a repair. This had broken lose and the bolt was also flogged. So luckily I had another bolt and some much heavier/ thicker washers. After removing the old welds the new washers are welded in place and the new bolt fitted. As the title states never simple. What was meant to be a quick before tea job turned into a epic of Ben Hur proportions.
