Oh well - at least you're out there trying.
We're on holidays down in Tassie at the moment, and it's so bloody cold that the fishing rod hasn't even come out of its case so far.![]()
Where did the fish go, day 3 and not a single trout. Looks like the river has no fish in it.... Bugger

There'll be fish there mate, but after the Oct long weekend with every man and his dog flogging the stream for all they are worth, you have to give the trout time to overcome the shock of it all.
A solution that works for me is to go somewhere much less populated and that is much harder to get to.
Have you tried the 'bidgee above Tantangara? - doesn't fall into my above category but it is usually productive before it gets too hot and not too far from where you have been fishing. But don't let the fish see you first.
Ta, will give it a go, is that the one just off the road (left) to tantagara?
Its a beautiful area up there.
I was taken up their many years ago, and we stopped at the Gang Gang Ck to check it out. WOW, so many big fish in such a small stream really, but just so cool to see.
We spent the week driving aound in the old Series 3, and trolling the little tinnie I had on the lake. My mate hooked a massive fish within 500mts of our first troll. He threw the tail slapping fish back (God it was a cool sight to see too) with the confirmation we were in for an awesome week of fishing. Poor bugger never got another bite
,, I caught just two decent sized fish
. But all in all, it was an awesome week.
Looking forward to getting back up there at some point.
We have a fishing area here. The Fishing Shack.

Hello from Brisbane.
I used to poke around that area, and well beyond into the southern Alps, in the late 70s in a 998cc Mini Moke and a 7 weight flyrod. Fantastic place and a fantastic little bus.
A lot of the tracks that were open then were rarely used, but from what I can see from more recent visits most are now locked off.
I miss the access, and I miss the Moke.
Cheers,
