Yes.
I will try that first to cool the thing when I go to find a converter.
PS: Do these units have to be kept horizontal or can they lean abit, like if it was sitting on the passenger seat ?

G'day Olbod :)
I have a Waeco TC14FL 12/240volt unit that I bought 2nd hand $100 with both 12&240volt cables, It is a cooler not a freezer,30dec below ambient,I plug it in to 240v the night before we go to a dog trial, takes our sandwiches and cans of soft drink it goes into the Disco1 and the plug is set into the side trim, socket is a Narva either a 82102BL/82104BL/82105BL and the plug for the socket is 82106BL.
Should be available through REPCO up you way :D
cheers
Thanks uncle.
On trips I have always relied on a canvas water bag. I will continue to carry one. Drawback is that you have to get out of the car to get a drink.
I have never owned or will own a full size fridge thingy like what goes into most 4x4's these days.
Untill this cooler came along I had not considered one. Could be just the thing on trips for keeping cool water and things like grapes or nana's that you might find at stops. I also like to nibble on Jerky that I keep in the fridge.
Handy to dip into while on the move.
I will give it a go.
G'day Olbod :)
That 82102BL is a surface mount plug so can be screwed to any flat surface, all of those plug sockets and plugs are 20Amp rated.:)
