Your already a suspect if you are being interviewed in relation to a crime. At this point nothing you say can ever help you even if you are innocent.
Madeleine McCann disappeared in May 2007. The list of questions the McCann's refused to answer is from September 2007. At this point the police are no longer trying to find Madeleine McCann, they're trying to charge someone with a crime.

A few years ago, there was an elderly lady that went missing. A few days later her body was found.
Some regular customers at the restaurant where I worked ( a few wardens and police detectives ) were in for a meal. They were talking about how they'd just managed to solve the case, and the details would be released soon.
I replied "the daughter did it." Damn near all of them choked on their food, and wanted to know how I worked it out.
Gave them my reasonings, and it was spot on. Missus then told them I had it figured days ago when it first hit the news.
