My Engel cycles on and off.
When it's on, it draws 2.5A.

Hi Barra1, the simplest way to find out how long your battery will power your fridge for is to do a "Driveway Test".

Fully charge your battery with a battery charger, then set the battery and fridge up in your garage or whatever, and let it run.

If you will be going to the fridge when on your trip, do similar actions during your test.

Keep an eye on the battery’s terminal voltage and the chart below will give you a fairly accurate idea of the state of charge of your battery at any time during the test.

Do not let the battery be discharged below 11.58v or 20% of the battery’s capacity.

But on freeze,it won't be off very much at all,particularly in the NT this time of the year.

In fact i very rarely operate mine on freeze as it drains the battery pretty quickly.

Maybe I should show I did read the original post.

When my Engel is turned up to FULL - being used as a freezer, it cycles on and off.
When it is cycling on (on full), it draws 2.5A

Current draw varies with the age of the unit. Best thing is to measure it.

or just assuming its going to draw 2.5 amps, 24hours aday. (worst case scenario)

120amp @ 2.5 amphours will last approx 48hours.
ive oversimplified the calculation, but you get the idea.

Same with run time,mine seems to cycle very rarely on freeze,particularly if the temp. is around 30degrees or higher.

Probably just getting old and tired.......

also look up your model on the engal website. it will tell you your amp drawr.
