Now I am not religious myself but I do know the lords prayer. It starts with "Our father which art in heaven", not "Our Mother which art in heaven"
That reminds me - many years ago, my Dad - a Primary School Teacher - asked his students to write down the Lords Prayer. I always remember one of the students started with 'Our Father, who aren't in Heaven, hello be thy name'...

Well, She would certainly not be a Mythter, would She? Bob
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

So, the original thread title is not bound by the immediate conclusion that most would jump to on reading it that god=God. And your comment on how the pantheon of gods of the Ancient Greeks is merely mythology, given that there is little difference between their worship ( as in they raised temples to their gods, prayed to them, and devoted their lives to them) is no different to any other belief system.

I think that Helios did eventually trade his chariot that he used to cart the sun across the sky for a Perentie. Soft top, of course.
Wise words, thanks. It pays to remind people that this thread is about Land Rovers.

Indeed. And if it were to slide in an alternative direction, I'm sure it would quickly end up in the mods' 'special place', never to be seen again.

And to continue the theme.....Kabta, the Mesopotamian god of pick axes and the shaping of bricks, blessed as he is with a very narrow job description, would drive a Defender Tanami that still had the gardening tools on the bonnet.

    Vogue or Sport

If God was a girl, she would be hardworking and looking after everyone instead of smiting them. To that end she would need something big - to ferry all the saints around - and comfortable - for the long drives to hell and back to keep Satan in line, and stylish of course - because you can't be seen in any old thing.

That is a brilliant god! Everybody has to admire a specialist. It's important to be good at what you do.

You think it's troubling for you? This is going to require quite an adjustment for me if it's true. If it is, then I can tell you that god drives mostly 130s, has been known to drive 110s and a stage 1 V8, and has a fondness for 2As but can't actually be said to drive one. But how can I be sure either way? It's true that I had a oil-leak free 110. Not only that, but my current crewcab 130 doesn't leak any either. So that's undeniably a strong case for the affirmative. On the other hand, I've never created anything. Well, nothing really significant like planets or Polio (or midgets). And you couldn't describe the manner in which I create things as anything but conventional. I've never used the kind of magic or supernatural methods favoured by gods for getting things done. I don't even know any magic. So on the balance of the evidence, I'm thinking probably not.
Anyway, I've been thinking that with all these thousands of gods that have been around (and are still around, since presumably they're all immortal) throughout the course of human history, if they all drive Land Rovers, surely based on probability every Land Rover model has been represented at some point.
It must be an intensively competitive environment, each deity (or in some cases coalitions of deities) tirelessly insisting that he or she is the one true god. I think image would be everything. If I was one of them, I would want a Land Rover that's a little bit intimidating, something that embodies my omnipotence and allows me to stand out in the great carpark of the gods. For that reason it has to be the Judge Dredd 101.

Something's been bothering me. If a Deity , of whatever persuasion, were to confront fire & brimstone, would they drive a vehicle made primarily of aluminium? Bob
