Spot on Dullbird. The EDD's generally fine great homes. I have a few mates who's parent's are now looking after their old EDD's.
Lots A, do you live near SME or are you currently serving?

Neither, I'm a volunteer to the Museum.
You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

I am aware of an Adgie dog that came home from E/Timor in 1999,but you won't find a record of it,
would have died of old age by now, but it became a family pet.

In the late '60s, early '70s, my parents acquired an RAAF German Shepherd guard dog from Amberly as the handler was retiring.
He only had a suburban lot so, through a common RAAF acquaintance, we got the dog for our rural property.
We all just assumed it was the done thing!

The one that I'am aware of belonged to an ex-Amberley doggie, who I believe is now out,he did 12 years,I knew him as one of my school bus kids, from primary through high school,he asked me what I would suggest he do on leaving school,I suggested the services first then choose a career after basic, he chose RAAF, and became a doggie, and was one of the first into East Timor in 99 to secure the airport pre our amphibious landing,I believe he is now a serving Qld. Police officer and quite possibly a doggie as that is what his mother told me he was aiming at becoming, she thought that his old RAAF boss was also in there as a doggie.

I'm currently at the school doing my plant cse. That 101 that the museum has is fantastic. Do you drive the 88 I see about at SME?

Hi Will
I haven't been over to the Museum in a couple of weeks. The 101 you speak of is the workshop runaround. We also have a perentie FFR.
You should pop over to the Museum office and see the curator Sebastian or Maj Petrenko and ask for a little inspection in the Cust Hut (the one next to the ex-RAAF F1-11 Starch hanger). Some interesting toys in there. An M113-FSV, Land Rover 112-512 gun buggy and some of the plant used in SVN, including one that hit a mine.
Unfortunately a lot of the collection is being transported to Bandiana for storage while the new museum building over at Holsworthy is being built.
No I'm not the one in the SIIa 88, that will be Gary or his partner Faye both vollies, if you see him hail him down. He may be able to take you on the tour.

The RAAF dogs in question were security & airfield defence, so different to EDDs.
My Black Lab is an ex-EDD from 2CER here at Enoggera.

So glad she's doing this now

And not this
