I'm running 220 lb/inch front and 300 lb/inch rear... a bit of a compromise to get the front to flex more but can still carry a bit in the back without the bum sagging too much... works well. Actually the rear shocks as is are pretty close, it's more the fronts that need work. They aren't too bad really just the case of compression a bit too slow and rebound too fast.

Corner weights were done with a full tank of diesel but no driver... total 2349kgs.

What was yours again Mark, 2800 something? Did you need to upgrade to MR licence? :p

Haha yeah 2800kg but that had a reasonable bit of load in it, 160kg of flesh, 30kg water, probably around 40kg of tools/compressor, 20kg of RTT, the usual 15 litres of various oils and fluids, a slightly heavier engine than yours... and a heap of rubbish going to the tip.
Nowhere near as heavy as when I transported a cast iron CNC mill in it!

Just an update on the Amada Extreme remote res shock re-valve... Greg at Superior has run the shocks on the dyno a few times now and is making adjustments to the bleed configuration in the low to mid range and the initial low bump.

Can't wait to get them back to try them out, i just hope they arrive in time for this weekends trip :o

Thanks Wayne, how do the shocks work as surely the longer down travel limits the up travel?

Oh I thought I was finally over all these dumb questions…….. :angel:

Longer travel shocks do usually have a longer body, hence Gwyn Lewis and a few others have components that raise the upper shock mount to account for the longer body ;)

There's a whole world of suspension mods to play with now and many of them work with a standard height car and still offer more articulation :D

I was just looking at the Gwynn Lewis mounts. Out of everything I have put on the truck the Gwynn Lewis and Ashcroft stuff has been the best.

Yep i agree, all very quality stuff and easy to fit at home.

The x-springs work great because it's similar to running a long retained spring but you can run normal 110 springs. You wouldn't even know it was there until you go off road.

I've fitted a set of Bilsteins over the weekend. Good God, how much improved is the ride!

Never shall I skimp on getting decent suspension components again.
