    Suspended Coffee.........

its been in the news of late.......

i don't drink coffee but organise a coffe van for site 3 or 4 times a year and shout all our employees and contractors a coffee.......anywhere between 40 and 60 coffee's......i think we did 57 yesterday

the operator of our coffee wasn't aware of the scheme....he got back to me saying its a great idea

the next time i have him onsite i'm going to pay for an extra coffee for every ten employees and he has agree to pass them on.....he says he often see people down on their luck or a homeless guy sitting on a bench and would offer a free coffee in the hope it might brighten up their day

i know even at work it puts a smile on some employee.......although there are employees that you can never do enough for

em interested if anybody has brought an extra coffee

Not coffee but a quite a few years ago we lived in a short cul-de-sac in a lower socio-economic area but were living quite nicely ourselves, so when the Mr. Whippy (not "The" Mr. Whippy on here) ice cream van came around I'd meet him at the start of the street & slip him a few dollars to cover the kiddies in the street.
The look on the kids faces was priceless & the driver was a legend to the parents
    Worth every cent & more!!

The paying forward of tolls used to be a Christmas and Easter ritual on the Logan Motorway.

Nice scheme if done properly but many businesses do it to just get the extra revenue and never pass on the coffees.

To their credit my local Guru coffee shop have a sign up saying they have 129 suspended coffees available. As my area is not in a lower socio economic area I am not sure how many they give away - might ask next time I am there.

One of our local coffee shops does this - I buy an extra one for someone occasionally. I know they pass them onto mostly older people/pensioners in the area - they are known for it.

Surprisingly it took a while for them to find people that would take a coffee for free - no strings attached. At one point they wouldn't accept extras as they had too many to give away. I think they have sorted that now, and manage to pass on the free cups to those who may have a need for them.

I hadn't thought about the guy that comes to the office each day in the mobile van - I'll have a chat to him.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.
