    Overseas Postage

Has any1 else noticed the rise in posting/ shipping stuff in? I dont mean stuff like a motor of gearbox, but under 3 kilo?
I learnt that Royal Mail tracked has doubled for over 1 kg and if under it is no longer trackable! Seems to me they are cashing in on the popularity of overseas ordering! lol.

    Cheers Scott

Yes, plus they've done away with the very good Economy Air option, which took a little longer than Air, but was way more affordable. Cate

It costs me $30 pound for a 2 kilo parcel Royal mail secure air, that almosrt double in the last year ,
Aus post is another example of ripp off, they got rid of extra large express satchels and replaced them with smaller ones for the same money. I going to be forced to put my postage costs up soon. I have put a few formal complaints in with Aus post express at the moment asking why next day delivery has taken 2 days. They have been refunding us because of their sloppy service of late.

Yep, thats right , double I just dug out some shipping dockets from this time last year.
What a rip off. It is not going to do smaller operators like you Mario, any good at all! And for the likes of me that get so much stuff by post, as the corner shop is a little far away, OUCh. I suspect they are doing it to help fund their incompetence which is costing them heaps. Such as the delivery not actually delivering, but saying they did but no1 was there to accept sort of stuff which I hear is happening.

Shipping from Australia is far more expensive than shipping to Australia. AusPost is a racket and a half.

The bigger the company you buy from overseas, the better the price. The larger retailers that do a large volume of mail order (think Amazon, Summit, etc) get a much better shipping rate due to the amount of business they give those shipping companies.

Order the same thing from a smaller outfit, and you'll be paying near double in a lot of cases.

The best postage costs seem to be germany (or similar). Eg: I have a single mass flywheel/clutch kit postage from there for less than 100euro. I also imported an ISOFIX car seat from germany a couple of years back. It's postage would have been less than posting it from melbourne to ballarat. We get screwed big time on postage in Australia. I imported a full clutch conversion kit for about $680aud. The flywheel and clutch in australia was $1600

I always check Elektronik, Autos, Mode, Sammlerstücke, Gutscheine und mehr Online-Shopping | eBay these day as well as UK .... Often UK is cheaper, but there postage is double.... You'll save a fortune over buying locally.

Take note about this company they have been alot of complaints within the UK, theres a number of forums out there. They tried to get me too.

What happens is you book on line, you are happy with the price, you pay, all good, they will then send you a email saying the size or weight is incorrect, as its a volumetric pricing system, and the price given is not what you will pay, they will either hold your goods ( as they now have all parcels sent to there own UK depot, before they would go direct to who ever was the shipped agent TNT etc ) they also have in there user agreement the authority to take further funds from your credit acrd if needed.

    Please be careful.
