But your police do have more powers than Superman himself. Has anyone been left with any rights up there?

    G'day Robert,

Since you seem to have some time on your hands Robert...How long have you been living up in Mackay?

I was told by one of my vehicle's previous owner's son that the Nissan SD33 diesel engine and Mark French Conversion adaptor fitted to a Nissan gearbox came from Mackay. The late previous owner's son does not recall the model Nissan the gearbox was from. Apparently the engine gearbox conversion was freighted from a farm in Mackay down to here in Bundaberg "x" number of years ago. "X" being the unknown factor. Like the gearbox.

Yes, it is a long shot - but back in the 80s and 90 - apart from the Nissan Cabstar what was a popular Nissan commercial vehicle - not necessarily a 4WD either; as my gearbox has a Land Rover transfer box sitting on its end? The numbers on the side of the gearbox do not seem to match Cabstar gearbox numbers.

I figure a popular model might be the donor gearbox. Yes I am getting close to pulling my hair out trying to identify it Nissan do not seem to be that help unless I wanted to buy a new complete vehicle.

Oh I am waiting for a phone call from my favourite federal government department that starts with C and ends in K. and they are late ringing me - go figure!

P.S. They were even late telephoning outside of the SMS appointed time frame and there were no apologies for the inconvenience - go figure!!!

How come I always seem to go and find this Kevin B. WIlson Youtube "Operator 42" when I have dealings with C-Link on the telephone [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_aVanNVcGk"]Hello Operator - YouTube[/ame] Oh yes please cover sensitive ears.

    Kind Regards
    Lionel

It could possibly be an MQ gearbox mated to a Landrover transfer box.

    Hello UncleHo,

The engine is out of an MQ 1983 - the informally known MK - and it has an adapter plate between the engine and the gearbox. I am thinking that an adaptor plate would not be required if the gearbox and engine was out of the same vehicle... ??? Some of the early MK still had the four speed box so an adaptor plate to a Nissan 5 speed would make sense.

Yes I know assumptions are dangerous things.

Sorry for the thread hijack Robert.

    Kind Regards
    Lionel

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking
