Crap people out there! I don't know that this law and order is all that it is cracked out to be. The law when applied is lenient and the cops are under staffed to do anything about anything but the most serious crimes. No wonder these little sh..s feel they can act with impunity.

Sorry to hear of the damage and inconvenience to you and your neighbours,

Both vehicles were parked out the back out of view of the road. I'm guessing that the would have tried to break into our home also

These ratbags must be out in the Birkdale\Capalaba Area as well, as they targeted an area near Old Cleveland Rd on Tuesday night as they hit a heap of cars that night as well. Unfortunately they hit the cars of the organisation that provide the support for our 2 disabled girls. Apart from the broken car windows they only stole change, a petrol card and some other small odds and ends, left the GPS's, the laptops and the other larger items.

Sounds like a good time of night to take the cars for a spin

From time to time these types of "people" visit up in the Caboolture area,I have a friend living in that location and he has a nicely named Baseball bat,"MILO" and it is marvellous what a difference Milo makes
my other friend is adept in "Ground Stabilising' folk that do naughty things to good citizens posessions.

About 10 years or so back I had the defender parked on the street out frount with the windows down. Just on evening I went out the front door to bring her in but just as I walked out the door I noticed an unfamiliar 'white van' crusing slowly driving past that looked suspect, they didn't see me so I sat down on the front step and watched what they were doing. Up and down the road they went, each time getting slower and closer to the defer', they crusised past about 10 times eventually stopping for a moment hard up beside it (by this time it was almost dark). They may have felt they were being watched and gave up and continued down the road, which eventually is a dead end.
I went straight out as I was holding the keys and went 'for a drive' down the street.
As expected I found the 'white van' parked in a driveway of a rented house about half a km away, they had obviously just moved in.
I drove in, up the driveway, across the lawn, up the steps to the front door as I figured they wanted 'a look at the landy' so I introudeced them to all the lights and horn.
Funny thing was, nobody wanted to open the door?
May have been because the bullbar was in the way?
Moral of the story was nobody from that house ever went past my place like that again, and shortly after moved away.
Sometimes you just got to take direct action.

Had a similar issue in Kal a few years back. Bunch of stuff going missing along the street, cars broken into etc. We all had a fair idea of who were the culprits but could never catch them in the act.

Anyway one night, we saw their car (old Falcon panel van) parked out the front of our place where there was little lighting. There were two occupants in the front seat, obviously just sitting there looking out for any activity etc. Our driveway is out the back of the property via a laneway. I got into my ute at the time (Ford F100 with a rather large 4 poster bar on the front), drove round the block and up our street (very wide streets where we are) - swerved at the last moment and stopped with the bullbar "resting" against the drivers side of the panel van so that they could not open the door. At the same time, my young bloke came over the front gate with our version of "Milo" (was a shortened handle off a block splitter).

It was politely explained to the occupants of the Falcon what might happen to them if they were ever seen in the neighbourhood again. No more problems after that.

Another time we had someone break into the back of the house at night. The wife & I were in Tassie and the kids were at home - daughter was in the bathroom which is right next to the back door and heard nothing. Fortunately, the son walked out into the back of the house, saw the person in the house and gave chase - caught him in the back laneway and "recovered" a mobile phone, some car keys and one or two other small items. We actually found out about this from the next door neighbours - the son didn't want to talk too much about it and when questioned, simply stated that he gave the offender a couple of "clips around the ear". Information from the neighbour suggested that the offender would probably have spent the night in the local hospital in a pretty bad way.

It's not "politically correct" to mention the ethnicity of the offenders in both cases - but we live in Kalgoorlie - it's not hard to figure it out.
    Cheers .........

Hard to thieve with broken fingers................

Caught a bloke 20 plus years ago thieving the stereo from my car, he came all the way from the western suburbs of Melb to my suburb because we were "Rich".
Buggered if I know where he got that idea but I reckon that any time his hands got cold he would remember me.

Don't so much have the thieving issue here but we do have lots of idiots in cars, usually takes a few discreet calls and I know who's who so sooner or later we will have a chat about their antisocial behavior and I find the fact that I have identified them tends to make them a bit more respectful..

Then again I reckon i could spend all day chasing idiot kids and it wouldn't make a big dent in the population.

Fair comment, because that description fits most people...and these scum bags know that,....so they continue to do this stuff, until they "meet" someone who isn't?

    Fair comment Terry,

Confidence/Arrogance works, being quiet and quick helps but the most basic is get them alone and be reasonable.

Never do this if you are angry or wound up and just let them know you know them on sight and you are not happy.

The law protects them as much as it protects you so im not advocating any vigilante action BUT most are cowards who havent thought this stuff through and they really lose sleep when picked out of a crowd.

Messing with their heads can be fun and if they take a swing you are entitled to defend yourself, No weapons though.
