- Print their photoshopping policy in the front pages of every issue
- “Never slim down or alter girls’ physical appearance in the photos they personally shoot for the mag”
- Consider “a disclaimer on externally sourced altered cover images”
- Include “a six-page spread on the issues of digitally altering images, magazine and body image.”

This is a great example of someone speaking out and seeing results!

In the Australian Parliament, one of the most famous petitions was presented to the House of Representatives in 1963. This petition was presented by a member on behalf of the Yolgnu people of Yirrkala in the Northern Territory. It requested that the Parliament recognise their traditional land on the Gove Peninsula in Arnhem Land, which was under threat from mining. This petition combined bark painting, English and Yolgnu languages and was decorated with Aboriginal designs. The petition is on public display in Parliament House. As a result of the Yirrkala Petition, the Parliament established a select committee to investigate the issue.

Not sure about that. I approached a group of three young lads all decked out in the bush camo suits one day. They were hunting with cross bows in a NP, burning green trees, and ring barking a large mature tree for kindling. I asked them what they are doing, explained a few things, and they left soon after.

The camp ground had another 6 families I was camping with with a dozen kids running around everywhere.

I didn't see it as a hero act, just looking after what I love on many fronts.

By' manning up,' you don't have to be RAMBO, how many people have simply looked the other way, ' I don't want to get involved ' , manning up can be simply quietly explaining what they are doing wrong, & what the consequences may be if they continue. Manning up can be taking a 6 pack over, joining them in a beer, & quietly saying ' BTW , mate, we should try to keep this place clean or.....'. regardless of whether its a minority or not, if the damage being caused to National Parks by inconsiderate campers is creating a problem, then there only few options....raising fees to cover maintenance costs or closing the parks to 4x4 vehicles/campers whichever is the problem. I , personally, would like to see the Simpson Desert National Park closed to all 4wd vehicles apart from fully accredited tour operators who would be the only ones answerable to damage etc. This may well be the answer in Victoria which doesn't stop people from seeing the national parks , only the mode they get to see it from. Btw, there are very strong reasons for my desire to close the Simpson if you who have been through are not aware. Den

Well I would hope that the majority of "fully accredited tour operators" might be better than one who I have unfortunately had some experience with. This bloke is very well known and features on a popular web-site frequented by some on here - and is one of the most self-opinionated, ignorant ******* that I have had the misfortune of coming across. He advertises "guided tours across the Simpson" amongst other locations.

I'd much rather travel across the Simpson with most people on here than a ****** like this particular "fully accredited tour operator" any day - so I'm afraid that I don't agree with your proposal. ;)
