    Side LED flood lights

I'd like to mount a couple of lights facing sideways from the roof, to make it easier to find street numbers (just like cabs have) and also to provide some extra lighting when winding through bush tracks at night.

I've spent a heap on lights lately (one of Murrays 240W light bars and a pair of fyrlyts from R2D2) so I'd prefer a budget item.

Sure I'd buy a pair of Murrays 30W bars if I could but they are a bit too expensive ($75 each) for this purpose I think.

What do people think of the following options please ?

    2pcs 27W Flood Beam LED Work Offroads Lamp Light Truck Boat 12V 24V 4WD 4x4 | eBay

    2X 9W LED Work Light Flood Offroad Driving Lamp UTE Save ON 10W 18W 27W 12V 24V | eBay

2X 7 5inch 36W LED Work Light BAR Flood 4x4 Offroad Lamp Spot | eBay

2× 27W Cree LED Work Offroads Lamp Light Flood Truck Boat 12V 24V 4WD 4x4 Square | eBay

    2pcs 6inch 18W LED Work Light BAR Flood Driving Offroad FOG 4WD Sekill 10W 15W | eBay

2X Flood Beam 27W LED Work Light OFF Roads Lamp Truck UTE Boat 12V 24V 4WD 4x4 | eBay

    I'd appreciate all feedback.

I've supplied many of the 27w work lights with my telescopic light poles and they've been very reliable, haven't had one failure, but of the lights you've listed there I'd suggest the 18w light bars would be easier to mount in a side position as they're more compact, just my thoughts anyway.

    Cheers, Murray

Have a look at Welcome to Unity Manufacturing Company. Unity spotlights are available in sealed beam, QH, and HID. They can be had with motion detector and are virtually 100% fitment to law enforcement and other government vehicles in the USA. I bought a pair there this year to go on the County wagon.

Murray by 27W ones do you mean the 30W light bars you sell @ $75 or something else ?

The options there were just by way of example always open to other options.

Brian those worklights seem a tad expensive for what I really need

Not the light bars - but a round 27 watt unit - I bought one myself off Murray - I now have it mounted on a 4.5 meter telescopic pole - I use it when camping if I need a 'streetlight' to set up camp, etc when it's dark. It chucks out heaps of light, and is very robust - mine gets treated very roughly and it still works fine.

One of these to be exact - pic borrowed from Murrays website.

It was begging for a new purpose, so I stuck the lamp on it - literally - with electrical tape.... I've been promising myself to fix it up properly, but it hasn't even come loose yet, so it stays as it is.

I have a vague feeling there may be laws (in NSW) about mounting lights that shine out sidewise.

Don't have time to check the inter web to confirm or deny though….

I've got them on the sides of my light bar on the RRC - pointing both sides of the vehicle. Never had anyone pull me up on them.
