Demand compensation from the owner. Perhaps in the form of his 101, not that you need another
Great idea, unfortunately a little late. The lick rash from the mauling has healed.

What are you telling us Gillie? Are they the troublemakers?

Some of those whistling skyrockets were let off here on the night of the 27th.

so it is the older generations that are setting the fireworks off.
I guess a candle for every year on a cake has been replaced with a firework for every year

On a more serious note, I'm in total agreeance with you Marcus.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

    SA Legislation re: fireworks..

    South Australian Legislation

In SA to use fireworks the following is some of what is required by law:

*- Licensed Pyrotechnician to set and operate the fireworks
*- Permit and approval to hold a fireworks 'display"
*- Possess and produce current/completed to date pyrotechnician log book
*- CFS or similar/suitable fire service to provide standby coverage
*- Explosives permit to hold, transport or handle said explosives
*- Explosives bunker or store , duly inspected approvoved and authorised
    *- Council approval
    *- Approval from the Director

    expiation (smaller more common fireworks)
    *-Possession of fireworks $315 + $60
    *-Unlicensed fireworks display $315 + $60
    *- Fireworks display w/o pyrotechnician $315 + $60
*- Light fire/firework/exp during fire danger season -Court
*- Light fire/flame/cigarette within 200m of scrub/bush or crop in country area - Court or can be expiated (cannot recall amount sorry)

    so putting it in perspective.
If you light fireworks outside a town boundary during Fire Danger season (nov 14 - @ april 24 in SA) you can be given an expiation with all three above AND be sent to court for the others

In reality, if done 'reasonably" (eg some safety measures introduced by the 'operator" it can be dealt with by top listed offence, usually this is what happens if the person is honest and hands over what is left,

But something to be aware of in SA if you have or are suspected to have had fireworks then it is covered under the firearms and explosives act, therefore any Police officer with as many assistants as he deems necessary can break and enter any home/shed/structure and enter/open/break or force open any object or thing for the purpose of searching for explosives and or firearms.

If this is conducted using a reasonable suspicion then there is no avenue for compensation or recompense for any damage or inconvienience.

Lastly contrary to popular belief, we dont have a great big fireworks show at the end of the year and set these all off, they are all placed in a 44 gall drum of water until it is 'destroyed' and that drum is disposed of as hazardous waste.

After seeing what fireworks (and in one case a detonator) will do to someones hands I reckon we can do without them out in the community, now that they are banned there are no safety with fireworks stuff taught and as a result, drunk, slow or just plain stupid people will be terribly and permanently injured.

and as to the "Im a wowser" calls that will soon flourish Im sure, I think I should point out the following to make it easier....

I think we should ban loud music (except country music or ac/dc), loud cars (incl V8s (neither my defer or my series have them ), Harleys (seriously its all noise and no go...like a series without an exhaust ), loud dogs, loud and quiet cats, loud people,

... you all need to realise that when I was young I used to get up at 6am , 3 hrs before I went to bed lick road clean with tongue......

    That should liven things up!

Never picked you for an AC/DC fan Digger ..............

And Harleys - I like Harley engines. They make a fantastic workshop compressor when powered by something with a bit of grunt.
    Cheers .........
