If the other gears are OK then perhaps just don't use 5th until after the break.

I had this and just drove really carefully (with 1100kg trailer) in the lower four gears until I got home.

Google brings up Dubbo Transmisson Service 118 Darling St Dubbo 02 6882 5152 but I don't know them so can't vouch for how good they are. We had ours rebuilt by Saddleton Automatics in Coffs Harbour who did a good job. Hope that helps.

There is a guy there, Paul I think, who is very knowledgeable about Land Rover products.
They may still be the LR dealer in Dubbo.

MR would have sent our auto to Borg Warner in Sydney to be rebuilt, they said. Not sure about manuals though. The NRMA should know about a transmission workshop in Dubbo, surely?
Guess you might be hanging around Dubbo for a few days for the country music festival?

That's at Tamworth, and its a fair hike from Dubbo.

There is a Land Rover dealer in Dubbo, if you want to give them a try. While you are waiting, stay away from West Dubbo, even the posties refuse to deliver there.

Ah yes, confused Dubbo and Tamworth. My bad.
