As I said earlier , it's not about Paul, Bob, Slim or John Mellion. My offence was how Ch9 celebrated the act( for 12 hours) and then decided ( no doubt after getting some feedback ) to show us some balance.
Perhaps they had to wait until the ratings were low enough for the sponsors not to give a ****!

I am happy to have an opinion on this and willing to voice it. Laugh it off all you like. It is my choice to be offended by our willing celebration of binge drinking which is , IMHO , a health issue.

A bloke at the cricket drinks a beer in about 10 seconds.

This is captured on national TV, and depending on which commentary overlay they play, it is either a bit of harmless fun, or something that will not only encourage binge drinking, but is also bringing shame on the country as a whole.

Just to add the spin, this bloke just happens to have run the country previously, and has never hidden the fact that he likes beer.


Now, IF they had managed to capture him downing 5 or 6 beers in a half hour, then I think we might have a story.

So, when do the 1 day matches start???
