Hong Kong 1987= mate trying to buy a Seiko dress watch and the nice non english speaking gent (we couldnt speak Canntonese either I note) He was refusing to rip my mate off by accepting the marked price of about $80! Honest
I told my mate he had to Haggle. I pointed at a Seiko diving watch and offered about $5AUD. we settled on about $20 total for both watches about thirty fun minutes later. Mine watch stopped a week later. Back in Sydney I approached a nice jewler who fixed my watch under warranty! My mate was impressed and asked him how much his was worth? The jewler consulted he big book and told him Seiko never made a model like the one he had!

Mine is still working though I note a Seiko service costs 10 to 20 or more times more than the orgional purchase price
