Gas Struts for D2 Bonnet
Has anyone here done it? Is there a sticky thread?
A Mobile gas strut guy was across the road and got me thinking about putting them on my bonnet.
I wouldn't pay him but would purchase appropriate hardware and do it myself.
Thoughts?

It shouldn't be hard. I got some gas struts for an equipment box in my 130 tray. Got the struts from Struts Australia, you order the size and stroke you want , and then the force desired. They also have all the fittings you need depending on how you want to fasten it. It only took a few days to get the 4 struts I ordered.
Be careful of how it sits when closed that it won't hit anything.
To work out the force use this: http://www.strutspecialists.com.au/p..._Selection.pdf
I drew a scale picture of my lid to get the measurements right, and lo and behold it was perfect! Good luck with it
