What is the BEST car you have ever driven?

As a yin yang thing to the 'worst car' thread...

What's the best car you've driven - and why?

For me an XB Falcon Ute. It was my "You Beaut, blue ute" It was heavy, versatile, solid, reliable, and FUN. And it was my first car. Could lie on the bonnet and lean against the screen - built like a brick shedhouse so no dents etc. Or could watch the cricket at Uni backing up to the boundary and sitting on an old couch in the back....
Bench seat for the drive in. Essentially it was FREEDOM.

And I did really enjoy driving it... unlike the Datsun 180B I had subsequently but that's more for that other thread...
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

I'm not biased at all ... and don't have rose colour glasses

But defianatley the best car I've driven is my Citroen CX2500 GTi Turbo

You know ... every trip is an adventure. The "unscheduled stops" are half the fun Not so much liked by the boss women though

With my old bones and my wife's arthritis the current D4 is it.
She can step up into it and the ride is very comfortable.
I have just had a little more padding on the drivers seat to help the old hamstring injury.
Remembering it is a 4x4 and not a sports car I love the power, ride and handling.

    I've got a few;

Lexus IS-F - beautifully built, fast, sounded amazing and the 8spd auto with paddles was excellent

D4/RRS - no need to explain on this forum

Aston V8 Vantage - just because it sounded fantastic. Was a pile of crap otherwise Nearly had it impounded which wouldn't have been good because it wasn't mine, but that's another story...

R33 GT-R - owned one for five years back when they were the current model and it was a rocket ship. Unfortunately they are just ricer cars now and I cringe every time I see one. It makes me feel sad.

    R35 GT-R - can't be described properly using words.

Chrysler 300C SRT-8 - Not a huge fan of the look, but it was a special car to drive. Awesome engine, beautiful solid car. Big...just as they all were once upon a time.

HK Monaro - First car and was only a 6. Was in as new condition but like all old Holdens it was a POS. But I loved it anyway. Wished I still had it. I can still smell it's interior and when I think about it I get that first-car glow washing over me all over again.

Defender 300TDi - what can I say. Going slow has never been so much fun Coolest car in the world according to Top Gear and apparently Portia DeRossi. The only car I've owned that I could never sell.

Without a doubt ,Toyota hilux 2.7L efi petrol 2wd. I have owned this model in single cab and dual cab and the dual cab was quite a bit better.
My brother had this model but his was 4x4 and I was not a fan.
My 1954 series 1 86inch would be second on my list

My R34 GTR had 470kw at the wheels. I find no car off the showroom floor very fast anymore, unless it's an R35 GTR. As stated earlier, seeing them now as bogun cars makes me cringe and sad also. My friend has a C63 Black which is quite a beast of a car.

I enjoy my wifes BMW X6, its big and low and handles amazingly for a +2tonne car. Has no puprose other then being big, comfortable and safe, what more do you would want for a female driver and your children.

The Defender has redifined for me what driving is all about. Slowing down and enjoying the moment. I dont enjoy being low to the ground and going fast anymore.

    Defender for the win.
