Best I've driven is the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti, nice and tractable around town, goes alright when given some throttle and sounds wicked on the over run.
I wouldn't own a Ferrari, they are fun to drive and ride in when they are owned by someone else though.
Best I've owned is the D4 V8, so smooth, quiet and comfortable on-road yet extremely capable off. It goes OK for a 2.6 tonne 4WD as well.

I'm very much a man who loves bits of machinery because they are brilliant at what they were designed to do ... hence Land Rovers!'Best' is hard to pick because I've driven different cars that were great for different reasons. I suppose the one that sticks in my mind is a 1911 Model T. Despite the fact it is more basic than a prison cell, and the fact the controls aren't really designed for people with two arms and two legs it was brilliant because it reminds you what motoring is about in its purest form
I've never had so much fun in my life ...
... even though I conked out in the middle of townluckily I didn't hold up traffic but I had an audience watching me bail out and crank it over again
the owners words of advice didn't really fill me with confidence "don't worry, it happens a lot on warm days"
It's all traumatic at the time but it reminds you how far the auto industry has come in a relatively short amount of time. Plus the whole production line thing with the Model T revolutionised the world ... this one being an early brass car was special when I think of the bigger picture![]()
I love them I wish I never had sold the dual cab, the single cab was great but was a little annoying when it came to travelling with people.
When I was in the market for my first registered car, I test drove holden cruze awd, mazda 323, mitsubishi lancer, for focus and then came the hilux as soon as I got in I feel in love.
It was so easy to drive the gears were great. It was comfortable and had quite a bit of power when the right foot went down.
Never had any issues with it and drove half way around Australia (mostly tar road as it was 2wd , but did take it through some national parks and went great).
I wish I could get one again but they all have too many kms for what I am after.

Thanks VladTepes for starting this thread. I have been thinking about this since starting the worst car. I have a few that I have really liked. I will start with the car that gave me the most feedback andy made me really feel like a driver - Datsun 1200. I have owned a lot of cars. My RX4 was fun (Everyone should drive a Rotary once), but not great. Subaru RS Turbo was a great car (Only car I never lost money on). My 200SX was fun to drift. The quickest car I have driven would be the FPV F6. Loved it. The car that I look forward to driving to work every day(And taking off road)- Defender 90. The most practical/sensible car(But Boring) - Wife's Mazda 3. Best all-round car - D4. (I have just contacted my leasing Company for a quote)
