is Woolworths Selct the new Black and Gold

Honestly, have you tried any of it. The wife keeps buying it but its just tasteless, textureless crap for most part.
She said the price is good. But gee you get what you pay for I think.

yeh I guess so. Marketing is a powerful thing.

I see on TV the other night, the generally accepted number of free range chickens per hectare is 1500 to 2500. Coles and Woolies interpretation is
10 000. No wonder their cheaper, and perhaps tasteless like the muffins.

Mr W/Worths has 3 grades of goods, Brand Name,Select,Homebrand, it is a toss-up as whether Select or Homebrand are better, personally I shop at IGA stores if possible, they are generally cheaper.

I refuse to buy own brands products on principle because they're the big guys putting little companies out of business.

I worked for a large breakfast cereal manufacturer some years back. On the same line that they were packaging one of their lower quality products they were packaging a no name brand.

Yes, but I bet they make far less profit on the own brand than on their brand.

I don't even shop there. Mostly Aldi and the things I can't get at aldi I go to Iga or Maxi (Ferntree Gully). Meat is every month at the Vic Markets on a saturday arvo when they are cheap. Some of the Black and Gold is as good as the branded stuff.
My 5c worth as there are no more 2c coins.....

Spot on! cost to much money to change the product in the line.
Regarding Select I get Select long life lactose free milk and organic coffee capsules. They are Ok.
I guess that it is a matter to select what you buy

Also because if we do buy it, one day soon that's all you'll be able to buy.
