    New Side by Side UTV

While around an industrial area of Canberra I spotted a new UTV and stopped to have a look.

This is the prototype of the MityToy UTV. It is part time 4wd with a Chery 800cc fuel injected engine in the back. It runs 14" wheels and has diff locks front and rear and even though part time 4wd actually has a centre diff and cdl. Top speed is limited to 85 kph.

The builder is looking at selling them, targetting the racing and farm market but is looking at making them compliant for full registration as a commercial vehicle (different standards to cars). Price has not been determined but looking at about $22K - about the same as a top level Polaris or its equivalent.

It looks great and seems very well built.

Looks like an interesting toy but For 22K I could think of a number of other toys I would rather own. If he can get it road registerd then he could probably find a market for them.

I see it has "traffic" plates......anyone remember putting traffic on their car?

I got the tail end of an all Australian vehicle something like this on aunty last night. Is this the one?

Looks like fun but it's not the best way to start the approval process by breaking laws and being a bit of a d*#khead driving on a footpath, (then someones wall), and the bogey plates..... damn social media/internet

There is always someone to rain on the parade.

Vehicle was on the owners own property and wall.

Not raining on a parade, just think it's not the best move to be doing that when at some stage he'll be trying to get conditional rego on them. It's a bad look.

....footpaths are 'owned' by Council and it's illegal to drive/park on them.

Geez, call the cops - the crime of the century is being committed...

I don't think any harm is being done, he's not hooning or trying to run the pedestrians over - just allowing a photo op for it.

Where did the pics go Garry?

Looks like a bunch of fun!

But aren't the Polaris 800 and 900 Side by Sides cheaper than that?

And on that note, CanAm Side by Sides are sold in Aus through BRP.
