At the risk of being booed and having tomatoes chucked at me I'm putting one in for the dealer.
Both my local quality local LR repairer and dealer are 1 hour away. The Private business is cheaper than the dealer by $50 per hour, but has limited or no loan cars.
In my case I am getting my out of warranty car serviced by them, and some outstanding warranty work finished off. Furthermore getting some private panel work done with similar warranty work. They have loaned me a spanking new Evoke for the week for nothing. Yes they are dearer, but I'm getting great service for the price.
People don't consider returns, or how that may be dealt with when they price shop. Some are good at both, many aren't. Some just aren't set up because they don't want to go that direction. That's life and that's the market.
It's nice to have the choice, but we must consider and try and support our own jobs and back yard first; or we will all be tenants.
