We have a bloody good pie shop here..not found anyone that has had a bad pie there yet....

yes they charge 20c for sauce.

in saying that did you consider it maybe because they have to cover the cost of having the sauce go potentially out of date sitting there waiting for someone to ask for it

I just call it bad marketing. Take a hit on the sauce if it brings customers back. I wonder how many stores have factored sauce into the price, that in fact you're still paying for without realising it.

All a moot point for me - I refer to tomato sauce as tucker ****er

My real fear ladies and gentlemen is that we will soon be being charged for salt and pepper sachets and sugar for our coffee or tea. I blame Masterfoods and Heinz for selling the concept as an income generator for struggling small businesses. Corporate scumbags.

Given Rove tried and failed, I will cease my lofty aspirations of a successful "free the sauce" campaign for Australia Day 2015.

I agree its un australian and besides I'm sure there's plenty of margin in the price of the pie to cover it my local bakery does not charge for it. An I don't put it on a good pie does not need sauce. A servo pie how ever must be drowned in it

If you go grab a squeeze bottle of the stuff you will see it says "refrigerate after opening"on it....

I recon those small sauce sachets should be free as well.I would rather do without than pay for them.

Thats exactly right it does but when I lived in the UK the tomato sauce lived in the cupboard with the HP sauce.

I came to Oz and Ian started putting it in the fridge and i was like WTF??!

he is like its suppoed to be in the fridge and I said well I havent died in the last 30's of it not being in the fridge

    So I agree dave..

Plus putting ice cold sauce on something hot really is not a nice combination it makes all the flavours funny

My Dad opposes paying 25c, or whatever it is for sauce, so in the glovebox for the last 10 years or so has always resided a bottle of tomato sauce, for all the pies one consumes doing the highway driving he does! I think the whole thing is hilarious, but I bet he's saved a few dollars over the years!

    Cheers

Maybe you need to relax a bit there Dave,
you really need to take your mind off of the topic, think of something else that relaxes you and use that as your sauce of inspiration,
then you can forget about all this stuff or you'll end up topping yourself and that would be very incondiment for us all...

Relax let the world pass you by for a while, Im sure you'll ketchup...

maybe you need to go on hollendaise...

    always here to help
