    Computer woes

    G'day all
I have computer woes, for soem unknown reason my internet program has become prone to just shutting down for no reason. One second your typing and the next your looking at the desktop and having to restart the program. ANy clues from the techno wise.
    cheers

    sorry couldnt resist

sounds like you have one of the worms doing the rounds or a corrupted cache file.

    1) do a search for "*.tmp" on c drive, delete all the little suckers
    2) do a disk cleanup and tick everything BUT NOT "compress old files" and give em the treatment.
    3) defrag
    4) download spybot 1.3, install and run, update it, search for problems and fix them. http://www.spybot.info/
    5) make sure your antivirus is upto date and scan all hard drives and kill what it finds
    6) go to the windows update site and get the latest critical patches and install etc etc etc

let me know how you get on.
