Looking at an old grave register from the late 1800s to early 1900s and noticed some chinese names starting with AH,as in ah po,ah ching,ah wang ect.Have never seen or heard names like this for years.Did a google search as to why,no luck.Maybe mao banned these names as imperialistic?Does anyone knowAre there some chinese members or does someone know anyone who may know the answer?

Met an Ah Quee from around Normanton Karumba area. He was a reservist with 51 FNQR. Very industrious bloke. He used to maintain a lot of the tinnies and outboards that they used up there when he wasn't fishing. He was a descendent from the Gold Rush days.
