Since I was a kid I have been a follower of F1.
My favorite F1 car has always been the Vanwall. Beautiful things.
I am only allowed 5 pics per post so I will expand on the Cooper 500 in the following post.
In the early fifties us kids used to ride our bikes from Horsley Park to the Mt Druit bike and car races.
A few years later we were racing our own bikes there untill the track shut down.
Anyway, there were a number of Cooper 500's racing there at the time.
Lovely little things, chain driven with motor cycle engines.
Thing is Jack Brabham and Stirling Moss both raced Cooper 500 Mk1V cars.
I remember Jack and his at Mt Druit before he moved up to the Cooper Bristol Redex Special.
I dont think he was ever beaten, great days.
