    The one that got away.

Was quietly minding my own business near the last channel marker at Boonooroo the other day when something went tap-tap on the end of my line.
Not usually one to worry about such things, I was galvanised into action by the sudden need of my fishing rod to jump overboard.
hmm I thought, a fish perhaps?
sudden thoughts of beer batter and peer envy flooded through me as I "set the hook"
mind you , all this achieved was to turn the rod into a ubolt shaped piece of fibreglass/composite.
hmm I thought, maybe a big fish?
    a sudden scratchy/ratchety noise started,
hmm I thought, maybe a monster fish?
20 minutes later a shape emerged from the green depths,
hmm I thought, is that a FIN!!
another 10metres of line is recovered and yes indeed it is a fin.
Attached to a what appears to be an angry shark.
hmm I thought, do I want all of those teeth inside the boat?
It was good my mate cut the line,
But its even better that I can remind him of it.

    Off fishing myself this weekend.

Camping on the beach and hopefully catching our meals as we need them.
Out of the water and into the coals.

If not I have packed the can opener just incase.
