what wiring standard... - thread tangent: AULRO-LRA liasion

Di, I thought you were part of a group that meet regularly with land rover to discuss vehicle issues and issues with dealerships......could this be resolved at one of those meetings?

    Hi Kelvin

LRA pulled the plug on the meeting the day before and then the LR Clubs liasion moved from Patrick to someone else, so the meeting never happened. Since that time LRA have not been interested in direct contact apparently suggesting that they acquire all the information they require from customer feedback and following the internet directly.

Meetings with LRA are still happening.
Only 4 days ago (10/2/14) I received an email from the current Land Rover Clubs liasion person seeking details of any items that we wanted raised with LRA at a meeting to be held in the near future.

I'd suggest, Diana, that you talk to someone on the executive of your club.

We are talking about the concept of AULRO-LRA liasion, not Land Rover Clubs Liasion, which if you read my post you would have realised I am aware about.

In fact the Clubs liasion and LRA are very active on the planning of the next LR Clubs Expo at Castle Hill, we had a thorough briefing about the matter only last Tuesday evening.

Never heard of "AULRO-LRA liasion" until your previous post.
The Land Rover Clubs Liasion was established so that problems such as your current electrical one could be aired. If you don't wish to give it a go then that's up to you.
I was simply advising that the communication channel is still available.
    End of story.

Not the end of the story Roger, there are a huge number of new Land Rover owners who are on this forum but not members of clubs, for what ever reason. I choose to be a member of a club, the same as you choose to be a member of a club. The problem arose that LR owners were having issues that they wanted to get some resolution with LRA but were not getting satisfaction so they would come to AULRO but get blocked by the name and shame rules. Incisor and the moderators thought it would be good if we could have a mode of direct contact with LRA so that issues raised here could be raised with LRA and feedback provided. The same as LR-UK have some liaison with the D3 forum in the U.K.

To initiate the contact we approached Patrick S, to tag on with one of the LR Clubs Liasion meetings, a list of priority questions were provided and communicated to LRA. The meeting was agreed to with me being coopted for the meeting in Sydney.

At the last minute the meeting was cancelled for both the regular liasion, and AULRO's contact. When the meeting was re-scheduled, LRA for reasons of their own declined to continue with the AULRO contact with the feedback as mentioned above.

AULRO would still like to have an open channel to LRA so that the needs of non-LR Club members on AULRO can get some feedback for issues they are not getting resolution through the regular dealer network and Land Rover Customer Care channels.

So indeed we hope it is not the end of it.
