My father was based at "10 mile" south of Darwin and he and 2 others had just posted the Company Mail,when the PO was hit and with it the mail,they were in a 38 Ford ute 3 up and with no weapons, got straffed going down the road so took to the bush,when they arrived at camp and reported it to duty officer he ordered them to the brig,only minutes later the call came through about the raid and the order to issue each man with 303 and full mag plus 10 more bullets, to stop a possible invasionthey were a transport company, closest front line troops were in Alice Springs

The book arrived about half an hour ago.
I had a quick sticky and the first photo I find is a pic of the PO being bombed.
