There is an interesting difference of opinion.
A friend who owns a 130 says mine is a luxury model on account of the 4 speakers, CD, remote/central locking, soundproofing.
Everyone else who doesn't own a Defender says it's very basic and agricultural (but largely because that's what the received wisdom is which they read in a magazine).
IMO a defender is luxury (seen the interior of mine ???), and the sound level would be fabulous compared with the noise as well (can't you tell I want one  ).
What i find amazing is the recieved wisdom that many have about defenders that they are agricultural etc. IMO a defender is a real 4x4, and all of the others with carpet etc are luxury, not the vice versa.
Capability is another aspect that I find amazing. All these patrol & toyo owners think that they are king, but I would follow em anywhere they care to go in my land, and then recover them when they get stuck

We (including swmbo) have a 20y.o. 110 Isuzu (one of the 10 press release County's 1984) it has all the soundproofing in it etc but you cannot hold a conversation whilst driving along it's very noisey mostly engine noise it's very agricultural would shake itself to bits if left at idle for a prolonged period of time, but I love it and wouldn't trade it for anything, she will be 20 in November, I don't know what happened to the other press release County's maybe they are still out there somewhere, our's has plenty of rivets and some extra ones that I have put in place to hold various things, and it's used regularly (daily driver) and for excursions far from the borders of NSW for all things Landrover.

There are two types of people in this world, good and bad. The good sleep better, but the bad seem to enjoy the waking hours
