Sketchpad of the new Defender!

    http://www.motortrend.com/future/spied/112...hpad/index.html

    Also reported by www.wheels24.co.za:

"According to Moira Moses, outgoing MD of the Premier Automotive Group, an all-new Defender will be launched next year. From 2005 the current model, which has been around in much the same state since the late 1940s, won't meet European emissions and vehicle safety legislation.

Moses said there is a possibility Land Rover will still build the current Defender to sell outside Europe. The South African built Defender is also sold in other countries, including Australia.

The current model will probably be rebadged as the Defender Classic.

It will also still be possible to sell it as a military vehicle because these vehicles are excluded from emissions and safety legislation."

Good news if they plan to keep the current model!!

I gotta say though, they do look good. I hear that the solid axles are going out which is kinda sad, but I also hear that the system that is replasing it is pretty smick 8)

Dug up which one Medic, there aint nothin there.

I like it, the look is growing on me. If it will be in europe next year, when do we actually get it, some have said 2007, some 2008 which one is it. One whole year means alot more saving for alot more accessories. Matt

As we are talking about the chances that Ford are going to kill the Defender concept, I went through and revisited some of the older threads on the topic, some make better reading than others, and some have had input from Vlad... 8)
