    Wow Massive Postage cost

    I was just quoted $88 to ship a set of piston rings (yes rings only) from a well known parts dealer in the UK and that is not even Express,.......WTF is that all about

    I think that in the last year, courier prices from the UK have doubled or trebled.

    I've been shocked a couple of times by shipping quotes.

    I've just had 5 brake hoses (RRC, full set minus one) posted from the UK to here, cost £15 for 'trackable' via Royal Mail. ie, the post office. Came in padded bag.

    Can't see how a set of rings would be that much heavier. Certainly smaller in volume.

    Perish the uncharitable thought that 'carriage' or shipping co$ts are being used as a source of extra profit....

    Classic Ebay trick, 99c buy it now $100 postage... from within the country too

    And it was quoted a UPS as the carrier

    A TDI head from Turners is now 100 quid via DHL so a set of rings at roughly half that cost is a bit steep.
