    Defender 90. Why no auto?

I was looking at a new defender. Was looking at the specs and it only comes in a 6speed.

Would there be a chance of them bring out a auto?

No chance. They are about to discontinue the model. There are kits from people like Ashcrofts in the UK but you need fairly deep pockets.

With the Anti-stall, its as easy to drive as an Auto, with all the benefits of a Manual

You do not need the accelerator pedal for take off, .... just foot on clutch till ready, and a steady release, the Anti Stall takes control of the rest

Well that is an interesting feature. Means i would have to man up and get a manual license. More effort. Still at 48K, thats a fair bit of fiance work :/

One of the worst decisions LR ever made not fitting an auto to 300TDI/TD5 and up defenders, well that and not making the TD5 a 3ltr.

Apparently [I would love to confirm the truthfulness of this tale] but sometime around the 2000s the Queen was supplied with a personal vehicle Td5 Defender that LRSV had built in automatic - she sent it back.

Disagree.... defenders are better off manual. Autos are for other cars.

Wait for the new defender.... it'll drive for you.
