Mate, why don't you buy in Australia, I got my new AMC 300TDi head from Australian Landy Imports from Newcastle NSW for around the same price for the same head that Turners sell, Regards Frank.
Finally arranged funds so that i could order my new head and parts from Turners, now with the drop in the AUD it will come to $1054 give or take a few bucks and i'm worried that DHL will hit me with GST.
Can anyone who has ordered a TDI in the last couple of months show me a breakdown of what they paid.
If i can i could do the customs clearance myself at work for nix.

See if you can get it sent by FEDEX. Normally parcels just over $1,000 seem to get through. I've had parcels marked $1,500 get through customs via FEDEX. When they do get stopped, FEDEX just call you and tells you how much duty is required. On Land Rover parts I've been charged 15% total duty. You just call the local FEDEX depot and pay the duty with your credit card and the item is delivered the next day.
Years ago I bought some parabolic springs from the UK for the SIII and they landed at the airport, and I had to clear them through customs, luckily the guy could see they didn't also need to go though the quarantine rigmarole. From what I've heard about DHL and extra duties, I'd be asking any supplier to send via FEDEX.
AMC is the head that I have, I think if you look into it you will find all of the heads available nowadays are Chinese, there is a plaque on my son's 300TDi head which says it is manufactured for (can't remember name) the mob in Brazil that builds the International 2.8, doesn't give a name though.
A few years back I rang Turners and asked where their heads came from, they said Spain, so I rang the mob in Spain and they said Brazil so rang them and they said China.
You can buy brand new heads from China for under $200AUD each, if you buy in bulk (200+).
Ask the pommy supplier where his heads are manufactured and I'll bet he won't tell you, Regards Frank.
Armada is one chinese head manufacturer that i know of and they are no cheaper than the AMC heads. I assumed the AMC heads were Spanish made, i know Turners sell them as EEC manufactured.
Now this is confusing me even more.

They (Chinese) also make OEM heads for Cummins, Mack, Isuzu and many other mainstream truck manufacturers, so what do you do, nowhere on my new AMC head dose it say made in Spain/Brazil/China, Regards Frank.
