Years ago i was flying Melbourne to London on Lauda Air via Bangkok and Vienna, i was on an inside aisle seat and sitting opposite me was this big Austrian guy who thought he was Clint Eastwood or John Wayne.
He would have been 6'4" and at least 18 stone , he picked me to talk to and did so for most of the Bangkok to Vienna leg while throwing back a 700ml bottle of whiskey.
About an hour out of Vienna he was getting really loud and obnoxious and extremely ****ed and as he was sweating like a pig he started undressing.
After some hassle with the hostess's he eventually passed out and slid out of his seat and got wedged under the seat in front of him.
Once we landed at Vienna it took 4 people to get him out and then he was escorted out by police.

Had a few bad experience with fellow travelers but the one that sticks in my mind was a 19 or so hour flight from Kuala Lumpur to Los Angeles. Was on an inside aisle seat. Most of the row was empty, a mum at the far end and her maybe 6yo sleeping across a couple of the seats in the middle.

After a while, everyone sleeping and cabin lights all dimmed, heard a noise, the kid groaning in sleep. Mother unawares.. Then the kid suddenly sits bolt upright, head turns left/right like those sideshow clown heads you slot ping pong balls into for a prize, then she projectile vomits. Missed me fortunately and we are all relocated to an empty row a row or two back.

All the fuss and bother settles, the mother and kid sleeping. Am almost off myself. Then groaning, kid sits bold upright, head starts turning, right at me this time.. Knowing full well what happens next I got a finger to her chin pointed her muzzle away.

No sleep at all that flight.

Are these the noice cancelling headphones suggested ?

Audio Technica ATH-ANC9 QuietPoint Noise-Cancelling Headphones :: Audio Technica :: Headphones :: Audio - eGlobaL Digital Cameras Online Store

Price is not too bad, especially when comparing them to quality ear muffs of around 27dB+ reduction.

I use in-ear buds, which give a lot of isolation, under PELTOR ear protectors. Perfect silence, but after a few hours become painful inside...

I had a guy opposite me on a flight from Cairns a few years ago got on his laptop as soon as he sat down & when asked to put it away told the flight attendant he would when he finished his email , than as soon as the plain got off the ground was back on the laptop even before the seat belt light went out. He was a real smart axx.

    worse flight ever

    JAL Osaka to Moscow

the plane was full of a Russian circus act heading home, so they got bloto, the other 1/2 of the plane was taken up by 52 day visa hookers heading home who also decided to get bloto

The intercom was nonstop, “there has been evidence of smoking in the toilets”. Well the couple in the row in fount of me just decided to smoke there and then, that was after sex. Poor JAL girls didn’t have a chance of managing that flight.

most interesting THAI Moscow to BBK.

2 guys in front row window. 2 mates decide to join them so they sat in the jump seats. girl asks them to move. they get snotty. a guy comes down from the front ( air crew) girl from the back with a drinks trolley, to block them in, Now never take on a Thai guy that’s covers in small silly looking tats. they sort of believe they are already dead. Anyway this Thai guy skinny maybe 45 Kgs wet. Put these russkies down in like 3 seconds flat. Impressive, good skills. suited me as I was air marshal that flight

    Horror passengers on planes

    I don't have dramas..
I was sitting in the front "extra leg room" area on a flight and as we taxied I was chatting to the rather nice on the eyes (female) flight attendant..

I said to her I love flying - get a great sleep.. She commented that it wasn't likely on this flight. I responded that I would be asleep 5 minutes after take-off (I love the take off shove)...

True to my word - 5 minutes in - sleeping... Woke up as we descended to land...

I even sneak in 15 minutes sleep on the 20 min flight from Whyalla o Adelaide

Long haul flights? No problem - take off, sleep, wake up as it descends...

It's a trained skill... I also use to sleep on the Parade Ground in my Navy days - standing up!

I was sitting behind this bloke who fell asleep 5 minutes after take off who then snored so loudly he was driving the other passengers crazy with that monotone, annoying, zzzzzzzzzz drone. One passenger has to be physically restrained by the cabin crew as he removed his belt and was going to garrote this sleeping beauty. Just before the plane landed, up he wakes and prances off with a 'gee what a great flight' air about him.
