Looks like a good read.

Just finished reading this book.
One of the most interesting that I have read in ages.
Particularly because it is during my era and I have piloted or been a passenger in a few of the aircraft mentioned.
Bloke writes well and I could not put it down.
For me it rates with Ernest Gann's "Fate is the Hunter ".
Looks like a good read.

That pilot may have flown the Doctor who saved my Mothers life during the difficult birth of my brother, at Ilfracombe, back in 1954. A Dr. O'Leary was the Dr., all Mum remembers about him is that he had ' lovely red hair'. She saw the hair over the mask, before she went under. The things you remember. He died not long after, apparently . Mum thinks his Son is a Dr. in the R.F.D.S. now. Must buy that book, Bob
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food
A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking
Bob, I get a lot of my books from www.westprint.com.au
They have an ever expanding selection and have prompt delivery.
I recieve their every Friday news letter containing lots of interesting stuff.
I look forward to me Friday mornings on the net.
Thanks, Robert, I've signed up. Looks like a good site, those custom maps sound interesting. must look into it further, Bob

I like to read a lot also and I get a lot of my books from Booktopia in Sydney
Booktopia - Books, Online Books, #1 Australian online bookstore, Buy Discount Books, eBooks and DVDs from Australia and the world.
I notice on your site (Westprint) a book that took my interest called "Carrier Attack Darwin, 1942" which was released last year. Your site quoted $49.95 (no postage) and Booktopia quoted $34.95 (plus $6.50 postage) on special. Being very interested in things military, I ordered it through Booktopia. Thanks Olbod, a bit more reading for another old bloke!!!
I guess you could compare prices to keep Westprint honest!!!
Yes, I also buy from Booktopia.
I have just started reading the Carrier Attack Darwin book that I purchased from Westprint a few weeks ago. I announced my purchase here on the Forum.
Westprint are not book sellers as such compared to Booktopia and Dymocks for instance.
They provide an information service to fourby owners with hands on experience compiling maps and stuff and spend a lot of time on the road.
I find their Friday newsletter very informative and helpful giving the world at large a website for others to inform about weather and road conditions out there etc.
The fact that in their newsletter they have a section containing new and second hand books for sale pleases me because I often find books to interest me that I never new had ever been written. So I buy one every now and then. I dont question the price or look for bargains elsewhere because without them alerting me to it I would never have known.
I dont know how they come by the books but I bet it costs them more than
established book sellers etc. I think they might be battlers like the rest of us.
When I search for a book on a particular subject I go all over the internet world to find it and buy online from everywhere.
I like to read, it takes me to a wonderland and costs very little to get there, eh.
Cheers.
Let us know what you think of "Carrier attack Darwin".Looks like a good read if you are into military history, like me.
Ok, do that.
It looks at first glance like a facts and figures read rather than a rollicking good yarn.
But yes I am into military history.
The last one I read recently was Tunnel Rats, see below.
Very good, very funny, because I new some of the boys and girls in it.
Available from Booktopia.
I also down load doco's from the net on military history, I save them to dvd.
Youtube have heaps.
Cheers.
Well, the book has arrived, looks like a nice read.![]()
