    Pack and Send Type Couriers

I am looking at buying something on ebay interstate and as usual it is pickup only but they will accept courier pickup if I organise everything. I have never done this before so I assume a company like Pack and Send would do this.

I tried to get an online estimate of the cost but they do not do it so I will have to give them a call tomorrow.

So what are the options in this scenario - what are the good companies and who are bad - noting the seller will do noting except allow access to collect the goods.

    Thanks

E-go and Interparcel are great because you can get an instant online quote and then go on to book the job if you choose. You will need accurate dimensions and weight of the item/s to book online, also the sellers phone number.
The only problem might be how helpful the seller will be because with any courier you will have to get the seller to attach a consignment note to the goods. This will most likely mean emailing him the connote after you book the freight and getting him to print it out.
Also, depending what the item is, it needs to be acceptable to the courier, for example, they would probably refuse to pick up a lot of small loose items which should be packed in a box or bundled together, or if it's something very heavy they will refuse to pick up without a fork lift.

What is it and from where? Perhaps a fellow AULRO member could assist with the pick up and deliver to a courier or something ?

I've used Pack and Send a couple of times to collect from Graysonline in Sydney. Very useful service if the seller will only sell "as-is" and won't pack the goods up at all.

If they are willing to pack, then e-go is excellent.

I did enjoy this excellent show based on a really good quality delivery company,
    Swift and Shift.

That aside, e-go is worth a look

The courier business should be simple - indeed it should be, but rarely is!
