    Fitting extra seats

Hi all, I was hoping someone could give some advice on fitting extra seating to a defender 110 2002 , I was wondering is it as simple as buying seats and bolting them in. I live in qld if that matters .

Thanks in advance for your help

Not that easy I am afraid. If for example it is currently a 5 seater and was not fitted with extra seats you will need the addition engineered with and engineers certificate including seat belts and the capacity of your vehicle must be changed on the id panels and lregistration.

In Nsw if you use the original defender rear seats it only needs to fit the same and can be adjusted On rego by a knowledgable mechanic. In Qld I'm not sure but have read about mod plate but not 100% if that has changed where the mechanic who is qualified to do a mod plate fits seats or suspension etc and plates it.
2002 defenders could be optioned with 4 inward facing. Rear seats so you can legally make your 110 a 9 seater. Mine is, it's regoed as a small bus.
