Buy one from the closest LR dealer to you. Get written quotes from a couple of others and push your local dealer to match/better the best price you can get from elsewhere. Much better to have a relationship with your local dealer when things go wrong.....

This sort of thing? Bit older than you want. This one has been on Gumtree for a while. Gold Coast is not to far way, and you need an NT holiday

Australia is now pretty much a national market. I have sourced two of my last four vehicles from interstate. The last time the vehicle I wanted at the right price was in Melbourne. The dealer there freighted it up to me free of charge with a full set if floor mats and a tank of fuel. I had a lengthy email conversation with them and they sent plenty of photos of bits that weren't shown clearly in their ad.

Obviously this only works for new or ex-demonstrator vehicles as I wouldn't chance buying secondhand remotely. If you know what you want and have already test driven one there really isn't much need to physically inspect the one you're actually buying.

It's a fair point that you may get better service when buying and subsequently servicing locally. However it's just as likely that you may find the local dealer to be prince charming when selling you something but their service department are a bunch of brain dead neanderthals.

    I used Lyntons in Southport.

They came up with the best deal on a 14my car.

I think you may struggle to find much new in 13my. I couldn't get hold of much back in November, even when the dealers were running searches on incoming stock.

Ordering a car has some disadvantages - time mainly, but lots of positives. for example getting stuff you don't want that seems to be fitted to most of them, like those side steps.

current std drive away price in Qld is $47,345 according to the LR site for a totally std car. I managed to beat this and also had metallic paint all over, and dual finish wheels / MTR's included so there is some movement on price if you push.
