My New Suspension

G'day all has been a long time between posts on here, but anyway there are some new photo's in my album in the gallery of my new suspension, It was done by one of our own site members,(skids). He calls it crawler cones,,,,,,,,,,,,,I think. It is a simple design & it seams to work well.
I have just had it fitted so I havn't had time to give it a full work out but the bit i have used it, it works great.
I will keep you all informed of how it performs over the coming weeks. I have spoken to some of you on here about scorpion racing this is a similar design, but made here in oz & is cheaper.
Anyway see you all later, my album is on page 2 of the member's section & is under gidget.

Dollars I can't really say as yet but as for stability on road, it is as good as ever.
When i had it done i had 1 1/2" higher coils fitted, but i also had quick release pins fitted on the sway bars. So when it is all hooked up it peforms as any other defender, but when offroad let the sway bars out & let the springs dislocate & do what ever it is they need to do under there.
We went on a bit of a night run last night but no pics to show & the video footage is to dark to bother working out how to put it up here. But lets say I am very impressed with what I have seen so far.
Hopefully there will be pics after the weekend, if she lets me out to play.

Gidget, given that you have a 130 (you got sway bars) I was wondering whether the suspension set up your mate made would have any adverse or (even dangerous ?) effect on-road for a 110, unhampered by such on-road civilities and unrestricted by them off-road.

I am not a mechanical wiz so excuse my dumbness, are the torsion bars you speak of the same as sway bars? If so as far as I can see it would be fine. As i am usually to lazy to get under mine & hook them back up(even though it is very easy now with the quick release pins). They make a difference to my truck only when it is loaded, so day to day around town you wouldn't notice if they were in or out.

Ooops - typographical error due to brain numbness, sorry.
I did actually mean sway bars, not torsion bars.
So rather than look too stupic I have edited my last post, so now you look like the silly one

Thanks for the answer though.

On the subject of torsion bars I understand these are different :?: I'm as unknowledgebale as you in this department :!:

Perhaps someone more enlightened can explain this to us.

Gidget I like the suspension setup, but what I love the best is your centre console setup, very nice indeed, ashame I don't have that much room in the disco...
