Thread: F1 Technological Awesomeness.

This has been a long, slow off-season for me, I grew up with F1 and have been an addict since I can remember.

Every Sunday when the race is on, a few friends and I get together and make a feast in the style of whatever country the race is in - spending the whole Sunday arvo listening to the national music and cooking up a storm, drinking national beers and wines etc.

Needless to say on Sunday I'll be doing a barbecue with a slab of lamb, some sangers and throwing back a few different Aussie beers.

This year, the Mercedes engines seem to be the in-form powerplants going into race 1, but what follows will be a good illustration of how quickly F1 teams can change during the season as they all try and come quite literally up to speed.

The fuel restrictions will suit smoother drivers who are less aggressive on the throttle through corners and the brake-by-wire is going to take a lot of getting used to for all of them so I'm expecting some interesting corner shenanigans in the first few races; especially if it's wet.

Love F1. Even if the cars do have adult toys at the front.


While I'm a massive Jenson Button fan, I think the other drivers to watch out for this year are Lewis and Nico fighting it out for the first few races, Kimi and Fernando in the Ferrari battle and Felipe Massa in the Williams.
