    SOLVING THE WORLDS' PROBLEMS?

I have been on a cruise the last two weeks.....sheer indulgence.....and plenty of reading time.

I found a book in the ships' library.

    This book is absolutely brilliant.

It talks about all the worlds current and forecast future problems and what can or should be done to arrest and/or repair them.....and who should be responsible to do such.

Every politician in the world should be hogtied and forced to read it before they ever make another another single statement about anything.

I recommend that everyone should read it. It will either change your mind about a lot of things or force you to jam your head deeper into the sand in denial.

It is non political and non religious and the reference material reads like the who's who in the world.

It's called THE MEANING OF THE 21ST CENTURY by James Martin and is available postage free on Amazon for $8.95 or on Kindle.

Buy it, read it , digest it, then come back to this forum, you'll never say the things you said before.

    Dennis.

Isn't the main problem simple physics? We need a gazillion units of energy per day to maintain our civilization and at some time in the near future (200 years?) we will run out....yes, even if we go nuclear, that needs fuel too.

Hang on, simple physics tells us energy isn't created nor destroyed, just transformed. We just have to be more creative in using said energy and reclaiming it post conversion/use.

That must be why I'm at a loss to understand much of what is happening in the world these days, and certainly don't know many of the answers.

    I've given up drinking ....................

The problem is too many people. Then physics explains why too many people can't be sustained.

Going to check out this one, I haven't read it yet - but I'd recommend anybody who's interested in this sort of thing to read Ishmael by Daniel Quinn.

We are tearing through energy that has taken hundreds of thousands of years to be stored and heating up the world as we do it....er sorry, wrong thread.
