    Cameras, cars and cyclists

I think that the dooring laws in Viv and use of cameras have opened a can of warms were only 2 things can happen, more road rage, fines and personal assault or rearrange traffic in the CBD to allow more room for cyclists.
The last option will be far to costly......

Cyclists' use of helmet cameras requires restraint

Whilst their behavior isn't to be condoned...

WTF was she thinking riding up the inside of a vehicle parked and indicating on the side of the road.

That section of street is not a recognised bike lane, and putting oneself in the line of fire by doing that action is just ludicrous.

All parties should be saddened by their behavior.

I agree with you Tombie and I am worry about if this kind of harassment next time will not bring some regrettable violence
She did not have any rights in Collin St and a sorry from the other party will be sufficient in this case.

Yep between this and the changes to the laws in queensland I can only see things going down hill between cyclist and drivers

I commute to work on a bike and do a bit of tour de suburbs.......

I didn't really watch the whole thing but I agree with the passenger in the cab, he didn't do anything wrong......unless it was a clear zone the cabbie should not have let him out. As a cyclist I double check the rear vision mirrors just in case, most others don't, this road looks like it has a lot of cyclist traffic on it.

I follow most of the road rules when I'm riding...which is the same when I'm driving. If I choose to zip up the inside of parked cars I would accept that I was in the wrong in this incident, AT&T he end of the day we need to obey the road rules.

I just had a second look I bet my bottom dollar it's a clear way I.e. Not allowed to stop to let passengers out.....the cabbie is part to blame for allowing the passages out, oh and still agree the cyclist has to accept she was doing the wrong thing as well

I fully agree. As a cyclist my first thought when I saw the video was what was the cyclist doing trying to ride through that gap. I would have sat behind the taxi and taken the lane. Thankfully in WA the roads are not so badly designed. However I don't ride down St George's Tce or any of the other main roads in Perth especially those with street parking.

I have a choice of a 32.5km commute each way on paths or a 24km commute which involves playing with the traffic through an industrial zone.

I choose the 32.5km commute as it is a lot safer.

It astounds me how many cyclists think their 7kg bike is going to come off better than a 2 tonne car in a crash. Ultimately it comes down to assessing your own risk.

I think that I am going to install a camera in my car to film the stupid things that some cyclist are doing in the Tasmanian roads

Cyclists using spy cameras to film motorists
