After I moved back to Qld and was put on an disability support pension,I started driving school buses part time,as it was within my allowed earning amount,I did that for 16 years and it would have one of the most enjoyable times during my working career, loved it,and I still have many friends from those years, some I have seen grow from grade 1 through to year 12,and go on to Uni, 1 boy in particular go from grade 2 to become an ADG doggie, and amonst the first into East Timor in 1999, he's out now and a member of the police force

    cheers

Restoration planning for Australia's international telecommunications services (back when OTC provided all international telecoms). It involved working out just how we'd provide comms after a major systems failure and meant a lot of liaison with other international carriers. It was satisfying when it all came together during a failure.

But the most satisfying was managing the international submarine cable station on Norfolk Island. I loved working with my staff, Norfolk Telecom, the Island Administration, and the people on the Island.

I also really enjoyed managing the two Sydney (Broadway and Paddington) international telecoms facilities. Working with the staff and contractors was sometimes frustrating but, making progress on improving the operation of the building and facilities made it satisfying. Then it was all taken out of our hands and handed to a contract company (who didn't really care) when we merged with Telecom (Telstra).
Come on Ron!, tell as the truth, your best and most satisfying job is taking care of dogs for the blind.
But then again, it it so nice and enjoyable that perhaps we cannot describe it as a job

I do remember fondly the arduous task of choosing hosties for Compass 1 from 10,000 applicants
By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.

Very true, it is not a job, Arthur.

I should add a pic of our current girl, Sienna. She's qualified and waiting to be assigned to, and trained with, her client. She's a sweetie.
