Yup, agreed here Ebay is a pain in the arse now.. As for Paypal. Refuse to have an account! Ebay stuff purchased in the States is now also linked into something called Global Shipping.. I've had a few sellers who have been so embarrassed by it as when they list their parts they are not told that they will have to use this system. Not cheep either.... Same with everything really.. Ebay, FaceBook, Google Search etc etc.. All changing so say 'for the better'.. In actual fact they're all a lot worse!!

And don't get me started on Telstra the useless ****wits!

Personally, i prefer direct deposit to the seller, especially a full time vendor. Why give a third party the money
By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.

I listed a set of tyres and rims a few weeks ago, and because I'd put in the item description that Paypal was not permitted for pick up, my listing was cancelled. You have no alternative but to make Paypal a payment method, but if the buyer pays with Paypal, collects then says they never received the item, Paypal will claw the payment back because any receipt you get signed will not meet their proof of delivery requirements.

The ACCC has already said that this is illegal - I would be reporting this to the ACCC.

I've got some rims on ebay at the moment, but I think it's time we started using the MARKETS section here a bit more heavily.

Next time I think I'll advertise Land Rover parts here, they'e be guaranteed a good home, and no 3rd party profiteering.

Thanks Garry. I've just done a search and found what you mean. Time to let eBay know I'm a bit miffed I think.

Not trying to sidetrack this thread but i wonder what internet companys like scumbay, facebook, paypal, do with the personal details of millions of people. They know so much about people when they say its all confidential i dont believe that for a second. Call me paranoid but someone is keeping track of peoples internet footprint
